Last month, Mark Zuckerberg announced that WhatsApp would be getting the Call Links feature. This feature allows users to invite users to a new call or allow them to join an existing call. A recent report suggests that WhatsApp has finally started rolling out this feature to a large number of users. These links can allow up to 32 people to join the call at the same time. Also, the link should be valid for up to 90 days.
According to a report by Android Police, WhatsApp has started rolling out the Call Link feature in a big way. The option to create a call link is pinned at the top of the Calls tab. Gadgets 360 has also spotted this feature in the latest stable version of WhatsApp for Android.
Tap on "Create Call Link" option to create a one-time call link valid for up to 90 days. Here you also have the option to choose video or voice call types. The menu also has several sharing options. You can directly share the link through WhatsApp chat or copy/share the link through other apps.
This feature seems to be missing in the desktop version of WhatsApp. If you open the WhatsApp call link on your desktop, it will redirect you to a page that gives you more options to join the call from your phone. Here you can scan the QR code or copy the call link to join the call.
